People have claimed that reading and writing equals power. Think about the role of writers: journalists, book writers, speech writers, etc. Read the following article and discuss if you think reading and writing can be powerful. Make sure to explain in at least five sentences.
Reading is powerful because it helps you fight back. For example, the woman in the article fought back by writing the newspaper and getting a journalist to write the story. Lawyers use dialogue and read laws to be powerful.

DeleteI think that reading is powerful because what i just read got me really mad. I hope the 3 cops are found guilty, they punched and kicked a defenseless woman for "resisting arrest", which ended up on her having a miscarriage. Reading and writing is powerful.

ReplyDeleteBoth reading and writing can be powerful because the woman in the article was very persuasive because she stated facts about what was going on, what was her condition and how the police wouldn't listen about how she was pregnant while they were beating her up while handcuffed. DeleteWell reading can be powerful and make you weak as well. I like to go on the deep web a lot and go into the forums and debate with others literally about anything. Just by responding gets people thinking and can change their mind about what they were thinking with just some words.

With the video she got support and probably was the main reason was the dropped charges. Now with the lawsuit and the video she got a lot of help, but I don't think she would have gotten help the way she did if it wasn't for the video.

ReplyDeletePersonally, both reading and writing is important in the daily life. Why you may ask? Well when you read you learn from it and retain knowledge and from writing you retain the wisdom of information that you can put from reading in your writing that makes your words very powerful in my opinion.
Reading and writing are very powerful because they can be an advantage in so many ways. Let's say someone needed to write their signature on an important document, they wouldn't be able to because they can't write! They also wouldn't be able to read that document either so they're double jacked lol.
ReplyDeletereading and writing is important or powerful because it will help other people understand or acknowledge what is happening about in the world today .SO that makes people stand up and make a differences in the world so things like that in the artical that talked about a young lady that was pregnant was beaten up by three officers in west side .Witch mad the lady lose her baby .If the person taping it didn't write the artical no one would have know about it and no justice would have been served .thanks to that lady she made a difference .
