1. What is the writer's purpose in writing this article?
2. What is the main idea of the article?
3. Have you heard any of the stories or variations of the stories?

  1. To inform gringos that we have it harder than them because we got scared by our parents to not do stuff, which helped us obey them.
To show us the folk tales we were told.
    Yes all of them
La llorona, because my mom would always scare me with that one.

  2. Out of all 8 stories my favorite is La Lechuza, my grandma use to say if you went out late at night that it would come and take out your eyes. The purpose of all these stories to tell about the stories some Mexican's tell their children so they don't misbehave

  3. The main idea of this story is about a girl who's a witch, but she was a good witch. As soon as the towns people found out what she really is they all killed her then later comes back to life as a spirit in an owl, and haunts the people who had killed her.

  9. I think that what i was afraid of when i was younger was La Lechuza because when i went to mexico my grandma would tell me that if i stay out in the street late they would come and get me and eat my eyes out. Now i think its stupid and i wonder how i feel for that.

  10. La Llorona is my favorite because it has to do with ghost cause im into that kind of stuff. The main idea is about she wanted the man she loved and later i guess she drowned herself and children.

  12. my favorite story was the man with the hook around the camp fire it went a little like this one night a couple about 15 years old decided to ignore their parents about going out late at night so on night the guy takes out the girl and they go to the woods and have fun inside of the truck so after that they hear a long scrape on the side of the truck the guy goes out to investigate and about a 30 seconds later the woman hears a scraping sound on top of the truck she goes out and his toe nails are scraping the truck and the hook is in his chest the man with the hook killed her boyfriend the point of the story is to not go out at night and i think my mom who told the story wanted to keep me away from girls it didn't work though
